Milprazon for dogs is a complex broad-spectrum anthelmintic drug that helps fight roundworms (nematodes) and tapeworms (cestodes), including adult forms and larvae. Suitable for prevention and treatment, and can also be used in heartworm prevention programs on the recommendation of a veterinarian.

The tablets have a meaty taste, so they are easy to feed with food or give separately.

Composition and forms (2 dosage options)

1) For puppies and dogs up to 5 kg:

milbemycin oxime - 2.5 mg

praziquantel - 25 mg

2) For dogs from 5 kg:

milbemycin oxime - 12.5 mg

praziquantel - 125 mg

Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, povidone, lactose monohydrate, colloidal silicon, magnesium stearate, meat flavoring, yeast powder.

Milprazon is used for helminthiasis caused by:

Dirofilaria immitis - prevention of heartworm disease (according to the scheme and under the supervision of a veterinarian)

How to give (method of administration)

Once during feeding with a small amount of food

or

forcedly on the root of the tongue after feeding.

Minimum therapeutic dose: 0.5 mg of milbemycin oxime + 5 mg of praziquantel per 1 kg of weight.

Important: for dogs up to 5 kg, the “small” version of the tablet is used, for dogs over 5 kg, the “large” version.

Special regimens (according to instructions)

Angiostrongylus vasorum (treatment): 4 times with an interval of 7 days

Angiostrongylus vasorum (prevention): every 4 weeks in a therapeutic dose

Thelazia callipaeda: 2 times with an interval of 7 days

Prevention of dirofilariasis (heartworms)

In disadvantaged regions, the drug is used in the spring-summer-autumn period:

1 time before the start of the mosquito/mosquito flight,

then 1 time per month,

the last dose — 1 month after end of the flight.

Before deworming, a veterinarian's consultation is recommended to exclude microfilariae in the blood.

Side effects (possible, rare)

Usually not observed, but sometimes possible: lethargy, ataxia, tremor, vomiting and/or diarrhea - in such cases, the drug is canceled and symptomatic therapy is prescribed.

Overdose: possible depression, salivation, muscle paresis, tremors, unsteady gait. Usually resolves within 24 hours; if necessary, symptomatic therapy.

severe kidney or liver disorders

exhausted animals and those suffering from infectious diseases

deworming of pregnant/lactating bitches, as well as collie, bobtail, sheltie breeds - should be carried out only under the supervision of a veterinarian
